Sunday evening, May 3, the Big Bang Boom committee met and has issued the following statement:
The current health situation has many people asking questions about our event this summer. We remain in close consultation with our partners at the City of Norfolk and area health officials regarding what is best for our community. At this time, Big Bang Boom remains scheduled for July 4, 2020.
Having spent the past year preparing for the show with our sponsors, committees, vendors and event partners, we want to bring you the best fireworks in Northeast Nebraska. We continue in the planning process. If the situation changes and health restrictions are extended, our goal would be to postpone to a weekend later in the summer. As we have seen throughout this time, great things happen when the community comes together. We will be working with our partners to finalize the details and donations and will share more information about our plans in the coming weeks.
We want to thank everyone for their support, donations, and encouragement.
Remember, just a buck makes it happen!
