Parking Change for July 3 and July 4, 2026 — For the first time in fifty years, all Big Bang Boom parking will enter and exit from 25th Street on the north side of the bridge. The park entrance at Maple and 18th will be closed to all traffic to allow for the bus route.
Handicap parking will also enter and leave off of 25th Street. Please follow the signs.
July 3 and July 4 — Free Parking — Enter and exit from 25th Street on the north side of the bridge. The lot itself is the same lot used in past years; only the entry route has changed. This is a one-year change for the 2026 event.
Vehicle Exits — Please follow the direction of the Norfolk Police Division officers as you exit the park so they can get everyone out in a safe and timely manner.
It is preferred that traffic be limited into the park after 10 pm.
Trolleys — Three units will operate from the North parking lot to the handicapped parking area in the main shelter area from Saturday Noon until the start of fireworks. They will not run after the fireworks.
Paid Parking — Paid parking is in the lot just north of Maple on 18th Street, with entrance and exit on 18th Street. Open after 4:00 p.m. both Friday and Saturday, $10 per car. The lot fills early, so plan to arrive ahead of the crowd. Big Bang Boom staff will be on hand to direct you to a spot, and attendants will be on hand after the show to direct you out. Please exit to the north toward Benjamin Avenue.
