1. Talent show limited to first 20 Adult acts with paid $25 entry fee and first 10 Youth acts with paid $10 entry fee. Applications and payment preferred by Friday, July 1st 2011. Will take “day-of” registrants if space permits. Contact Coordinator prior to check-in.
2. Location of talent show is on the Affiliated Foods Midwest main stage at Skyview Lake in Norfolk, NE (northeast of main shelter)
3. All acts must be ‘family friendly.’ It is at the Coordinators discretion to end any act that is inappropriate. Entry fee will not be refunded.
4. Contestants will be given performance order at check-in.
5. The talent show is open to both individuals and groups of individuals. A person may appear in one act only.
6. Youth Division contestants must be under the age of 13 as of July 1, 2011. Age of oldest person in group acts determines division.
7. Contestants must stay through their Divisions Preliminary Round as 5 finalists will be announced at end of each Divisions Preliminary Round. Must be present if name is announced to move onto Finals.
8. All finalists must check-in prior to Finals for performance order.
9. Contestants will be allowed no more than 10 minutes on stage for non-musical acts. Musical acts will be allowed only one song or tune, up to a maximum of 5 minutes total. Ten percent of the contestants points will be deducted for each minute or part of a minute the contestants run over.
10. Please call or email with questions regarding sound system and equipment available for use. The talent show is not responsible for cd’s or cassettes left at the show or performers personal equipment (i.e. musical instruments)
11. Contestants must perform the same act in the Finals as performed in the Preliminary round (i.e. same song, same dances, etc)
12. A panel of 3 judges will be selected by the Coordinator.
13. One prize will be awarded for first, second and third place whether it is an individual, duo or group act for both divisions. (Adult 1st $500, 2nd $250, 3rd $100 and Youth 1st $50, 2nd $25, 3rd $10)
14. Contestants will be judged based on the following criteria
10 points Poise (confidence, covering mistakes, etc)
10 points Physical Appearance (neatness, costuming, etc)
10 points Stage Presence (audience appeal, etc)
20 points Overall Impression
50 points Talent
